What online sources do you guys have for linen thread and sinew for doing leather projects? It's time for me to make a new pair of shoes and a Jack and I want to get good supplies.

Thanks
James

Here`s a good site that I founded last night http://www.jelldragon.com
For linen thread go to >leather and >craft materials
But prices are too high for me. If you need good linen thread send me an e-mail in Poland linen thread costs about 5$ for natural and 6$ for white dyed (spool). I can send it to you Beeswax costs 8$ per 1kg just in case you want to know

I've got some linen thread from Jas. Townsend & Son, but I haven't tried using it for leatherwork. Threadneedle Street also carries several varieties, and there are various places which carry linen thread for bookbinding.

You can buy coils of white or brown waxed linen from any of the leather retailers. It's fairly heavy (like light string) meant for saddles & crude western leather crafts, BUT, it is composed of 4 or five smaller threads that can be unraveled to give finer pre-waxed threads that are fairly substantial in their own right. I have some I can show you this week, James.

Folks,
Here's a great place in Asheville NC that has everything for traditional craft from spinning, dyeing, weaving, leather work, &
felting, to candle and soap making.
I just got a 250g spool of 40/2 bleached
Irish linen thread (as much as the average reenactor will ever need) and a few ounces of unspun hemp fiber -enough to stuff a couple helmet liners.
They have books on all the crafts they supply for as well.
Go to www.earthguild.com
Cheers,
Jamie
