Random question of the day...

Does anyone have and evidence of the use of Bowed Psaltaries in the C.14th?

For those who don't know what that is, a Bowed Psaltary is a musical instrument a little like a 15 string violin in a kind of triangular arrangement with the strings arranged verticlly!

One of the members of our group play's one and was wondering about using it at shows!

any help would be greatly recieved (as always)

IIRC, there are medieval plucked (played without a bow) psalteries, but the triangle-shaped bowed psalteries are a 20th century invention, although they look somewhat similar. But someone else who knows more about medieval stringed instruments should chime in on this, because I am not completely certain. I don't know if the main difference between the bowed and plucked psalteries is just the method of playing the instruments, or if the whole string arrangement and stuff is different too.
