I posted earlier this week a thread about the fit of men's clothes. Thank you for the responses. Currently I have 2 doublets that are a bit tight on me. I am trying to lose the weight but I may have to purchase a restriction type of garment. I was wondering when the company asks for the waist size do they want your current waist size or the size you would like to be. My waist is currently 40 if I order a the waist sucker inner as a 40 will it constrict me or do I order it in a size 38 as was the size that I was when I had the doublets made?

thanks
steve

As the corset company that question just to be sure.

Can't you let the seams of your doublet out a bit? It seems to me that you should have at least a 1/2" seam allowance on each seam if not more. If you let the side seams out 1/4" on each seam you wind up with a net gain of 2". If you do the same thing in the center back you gain an additional 1/2".

Wouldn't that be better than wearing a corset?

Any stomach wound would require 'bandages' that would have to be tightly wound. If this pulls 'it' all in, so much the better

Other than a linen wrap, you could go all-out and use modern tenser bandages with the elastic stretch to help control the bulge, err bleeding, I know I should!
