Greetings all!

Does anyone know a good source for hand forged medieval woodworking tools? I'm always on the lookout for spoon bits, chisels, hand saws, turning tools, planes, hatchets, drawknives, etc.

Androu,
Check this site out. There may be someone who can help you.

http://www.medievalwoodworking.com/supplies1.htm

Scroll down and you will come across hand forged tool makers.

Cheers,

Jenn

You might also want to look at: http://www.denn14.freeserve.co.uk/index.htm
Most of their tools are of the agricultural vairety but they have some reproduction woodworking and masonry tools as well.

Dover has recently reprinted Mercer's Ancient Carpenters Tools, first published in the '20s. I was glad to see this as it is a good source for pictures of early tools, as well as tools from China and other places. Not the end-all of tool research, but a worthy source. Glad it's back in print.
