I am a student of Renaissance fencing, as well as a reenactor of some 18-odd years standing in Australia. I am truing to locate any copies of period fencing manuals (especially Thibault) that have been published as illustrated print translations or on the Web.

Can anyone please assist me in this search???

Hi RTM,

Have you consulted the HACA website? They may have a listing or someone on their board might be able to help you track it down swifter than we can.

You can find their website at:

http://www.thehaca.com

Post the question on their forum under Research and Texts.

Cheers,

Jenn

RTM,

No Thibault on the web, but you can purchase a copy of part 1 (part 2 is in the works they say) from Fir Mountain Press for pretty cheap. Don't know how accurate or reliable the translation is, but I haven't found it anywhere else.

You're quite welcome, RTM. Please share your assessment of the Thibault with whatever boards you frequent. I'm interested to hear your take on it.
