Hi Mark,I've just started talking to the publisher, and the photography will start within a week. We hope to have it ready for press by the end of summer. I'll be teaching an all-day seminar at the St. George Pas on Sunday. I hope you can attend. I just really wanted some traffic on this topic, as it sits for days and days, and I know there are many out there with much to share on Medieval militaria. ------------------ Bob Charron

Hell, I'll bite, too. When are you coming to Dallas, Texas, damnit? I'd sure be interested. And although I can't speak for them, I'd bet Russ Mitchell, Morgan, Duncan, and possibly Timo would be interested as well. Oh, and since that isn't really discussion, what did you finally conclude regarding the evidence Sean Garrison gave you regarding the use of two swords? Robert,Feel free to get folks together and let's plan something. As for the two-sword evidence, that's been tried so many times I lost track of individual instances :-) If I'm recalling correctly, he gave me a picture of a fellow with an arming sword and a baselard. Is that the one you mean? I still can't find it used anywhere in armored combat. I can find two big knives, but not two full-sized swords. Anyway, let's work something up for Dallas. ------------------ Bob Charron

I think giving this particular forum a boost of topics would be a great idea. Some topics to consider (a topic in articular I chatted with Keith Ducklin about last Fall) - How applicable is the technique in Fiori, Talhoffer, and Le Jeu de la hachette to a battlefield? Would a practitioner be able to use any of these techniques to their benifit on a battlefield of the 15th c.? We obviously know they would be of use in tournaments and judicial duels, as well as in self defense if one were ambushed by a single opponent or a small number in the course of travel. I'll post this as it's own topic. ------------------ Bob R.
