......and in with historical fidelity-

historical fidelity

NOUN: The reproduction of historical people, places or things with minimal distortion.

Just a thought.

It's probably the most accurate term in the english language, but a tad clumsy - especially with it's common usage in the sound reproduction field.

"I want these shoes to be as historically accurate as possible."

"I want these shoes to have high historical fidelity." What - you want them to squeak?

Historically correct?

Right?

"Conform in configuration and materials with extand artifacts or common artistic representations?"

English is a tricksey language...

The "fidelity" term works with direct copies of extant articles - It's great for that, but extant articles are something we don't always have the luxury of having. I'm liking the "plausible" term for everything else.

I gotta say, "Being Hi-Fi" has a certain ring to it...

"You ain't Hi-Fi, you're a FARB!" and certain other amusing conversations come to mind. I like it!

Cheers!

Jeff, you think too much!

It was mostly a joke, although I think it probably has some applications. I didn't seriously think anyone would adopt it.

Just bored and trying to amuse myself while the husband's out of town. The bars close early in Ramona, and I don't know how to use the DVD.

Gwen you need a bigger fridge and to hire a young boy scout to show you how to use the dvd.

I like HI FI - a certain sense of tongue in cheekery.

The A word is pure poop and badly used, gaaaa where possible I try not to even speak it, leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Historical verisimilitude has more onomatopoeia.
