You've seen a lot of silly personnas, I take it? Some organizations engender some pretty far-out personal histories. I've met this person in a certain organization:"I'm the illegitamate daughter of the French king and the scottish hand-maiden. I was captured and taken by pirates and learned to fight with the broadsword...". Pure fantasy drivel. Most living history-style personnas are much more mundane: "My father was a yeoman, my mother spun and sewed, and I was raised in the home of my parent's and Uncle." I'm extensively traveled - All the way to London! Someday, I hope to inherit, or earn enough in my lord's service to buy a couple of farms of my own." Jeff, those are the ones I'm talking about! What I can't for the life of me understand why is it that they feel the need for some so outlandish? Is representing a normal person not good enough?

My theory is that they do it because they don't get enough excitement or are too insecure in themselves in the real world.Tiny person - big personna. -------------------- Geoffrey Bourrette Man At Arms

quote: I still haven't seen any examples of this in LH.
ever been to Florida?... bad dan! don't talk ill of other LH groups in the south FL area! even if they're from a town founded by russian circus midgets (sweetwater, FL in Dade county I'm not making this up!!!) anyways this was a problem down here. when i first got interested in LH i checked out a couple of groups. i "was" Frank, just plain frank, an archer. my father was an archer and he also served under his lordship... yadayada. however, i was the only archer in a "lance" composed of 20 "men at arms" (aka space mercernary pirates) maybe i'm being too harsh, but it got old quick! yes, i've found people that are these great personas and sometimes they're a bit insecure or are trying to compensate. but then again i've found that they're definition of LH is different from mine and i let them be. daniel -------------------- Db D'rustynail
