I just registered here, an aquaintance (ironclad) reccomended ya'll but I am not sure this is the right place.I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm not so much into the midevil fighting thing, I've been a modern soldier and if I need to fight I'd just as soon do it with every advantage I can get. I am interested in primitive industrial technology, specifically manufacturing processes and metel working. Coul ya'll use a motivated blacksmith apprentice? I'll take that beer! Ditto on the welcome. Sorry for the slow general response. It's been a tad slow around here a bit. What kind of metalworking are you interested in most? Armoring, casting, smithing...? -------------------- Geoffrey Bourrette Man At Arms

I'm Charlotte; some of you may know me from the Armour Archive where I post under the same name. I live in Alexandria, VA, and I'm a transplant from a 14th century SCA'er to a 15th c. LH'er. Mostly, I'm interested in 14th and 15th century clothing, but I'm trying to not be one of those people with one aspect absolutely correct, but blinders on when it comes to the rest of the impression.I also enjoy trying to shoot people with rabbit blunted arrows, when I get the chance. Cheers, Charlotte PS... Jeff, will it do if I just get you a beer from the fridge?

Excellent! Another person interested in blacksmithing. Two re-enactment groups local to my area are currently involved in an 11th Century period smelting project. While we haven't fired off our own smelter (yet) we did assist in this one: Metalworking Symposium 2004 This event was a fantastic way to see a variety of period techniques and materials, as well as getting to talk with some of the leaders in this field and learn from their mistakes and experiments.
