Ok - this is really off topic. but some of you are Tolkien fans, and some are fabric fanatics (I think ), so either might want to check out these cool items:

And I thought only Mithril commanded a princely sum!

I don't care what it's made of, taint no scarf worth $129 to me.

Well, (I believe) it is in NZ dollars, so I think it is more like $60-$70 US Dollars.

Still a bit pricey - but for some people....

You know what people say about how much we spend on our stuff.

C'mon Jenn - you can't put a price on an item which can shield you from unwanted eyes! I paid 15999.00 NZ for my ring of invulnerability. Sure it may seem steep, but for God's sake I am invulnerable!!!!

Tim, out of interest, does your 'Ring of Invulnerability' have a money back guarantee in case you, for example, get roasted by a dragon?
Why am I thinking of Terry Pratchett?

I guess if he gets roasted by a dragon, he's not going to be around to make the claim.

Actually I do have really expensive tastes, ask Chef. Put me in a store and I will home in on the most expensive thing! So I suppose if the wool were the most incredible stuff I'd ever seen or felt...and could keep one from being seen in any environment (one would question what nafarious schemes would be afoot that required invisibility) I suppose I would pay.

Jenn (dang! I just realized that this is going to show up under chef's name. Ah well.)

Jenn, I suggest you read Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett. It has a salesman who sells creams which guarantee that if a dragon flames you, you won't be incinerated. You can of course claim your money back if it doesn't work.....

well that all depends on several factors. what kind of dragon would it be. if perhaps a Draco noblis roasted him, i'd say he just thought the whole thing up. we all know there isn't much octrain left on the Disc* to keep something like that together and they have all but disappeared into the realm of fancie or fantasy. so you must have been refering to Draco vulgaris. however, i would like to ask this, can you actually get "roasted" by such a creature? unless, perhaps Tim frightend one causing it to explode.

if this makes sense, then you were thinking about Pratchett.

* the only place left on the Disc with an unsually high residual amount of octrain are the battle grounds were the great mage wars took place. one unfortunate victim was Wyrmberg which was a mountain untill it recieved a direct hit of magic and ever since has floated above the clouds, upside down, full of caves, with upside down rings, and, well, that's another story.
