Has anyone seen a "Medieval Woman" calendar around this year? Amamzon doesn't list one and neither does Workman Publishing, makers of past ones.

I hope they haven't stopped the series, I've had one of these on my wall for so many years that I won't know what kind of calendar to buy to replace it!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions, in case they have indeed discontinued this series?

Gwen,

why not make our own "Medieval Women" or "Reenactment Images" Calendar, and sell it through Cafepress.com ? We could let the proceeds go towards the oprating costa of the board. I think that the people frequenting this board probably have a lot of beautiful images that would make this work.

Well, out of intrest, some of the Girls in the UK Re-enactment scene have made a calander of "nudes" (Tastefully done....) in various "Period" poses. My own Partner (Meg on the board) was a fabulous Miss April posing with her harp and long tresses of Hair (Her own I hasten to add.) Others portrayed Ophelia, The Lady of the Lake, Lady Godiva etc. Meg's photo's were done on an exposed hillside in March, and she looks a little cold!(But still very beautiful..)

Copies are still available, with all proceeds going to cancer research.....

Caliburnus, your calendar sounds like a hoot! How do I order one?

You don't happen to have a male calendar available, do you?

Hi Gwen

Glad you're interested in the calendar, it's still on sale - I can snail mail you a copy if you like! Price is about £7.50, but I don't know what the postage will cost. If you (or anyone else, for that mater) are still interested, let me know by e-mail and Ben/Caliburnus and I will get things sorted out.

Shameless plug time

It's for a good cause, really - we're accredited by Cancer Research, and all profit goes to the charity.

And it was MARCH. COLD. VERY VERY COLD. It HAILED

That's got to count for something!

I was naked, on an exposed hilltop, clad only in a (small) harp and a fair amount of hair, being ogled by birdwatchers, dogwalkers and a passing tour bus (don't ask). Altogether very traumatic.
And there are 11 other ladies in similar positions (although not on an exposed hilltop, and mostly not in March).

Coincidentally, we are in the process of persuading our reluctant menfolk to bare all for the 2004 edition, so some words of encouragement might help!

Let me know about the calendar.

All the best
Sian

Hullo again,

Meg and I take little part in the sale of these "Documents" however, if anyone emails me i'll send on the EMail address of the Lady who does, and I'm sure she'll be glad to post them off to you! (For a price of course) I won't post her address here, She dosen't know, so it ain't really fair!

All I ask is that if you do contact here, say you got her address from Ben and Sian,

My address is bjb101@soton.ac.uk
Sian's (Meg) is sej101@soton.ac.uk

BTW, the calenders are coming from the uk!

Gwen,

You could get a bunch and resell them from HE.

Or maybe include them for free with every $300 order...

Happy New Year everyone!

hey all from Anne-Marie

theres a few medievally themed calendars out there that DONT involve nekkid ladies (no matter how tasteful its not something I probably should have hanging in my kitchen or my work cube wall!)

check out: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0764919881/002-9567755-7300005

havent seen it yet but Pomegranite does pretty stuff usually. I ordered one and will let you know...

That said, I'm thinking it may be time to do a re-enactor aimed calendar (for 2004, maybe?) Theres lots of free software for their creation, and Lord knows some of us have SUPER pictures.

Sorry all, this offer doesnt apply to pictures of nekkid people of either gender ...

--AM, who works in a place where they made a man take down a picture of his wife and their newborn child cuz you could see too much breast. sheesh!
