Hi;I haven't done Agincourt personally (much too late!), but a lot of other UK re-enactors have, and generally enjoyed themselves immensely. There usually seem to be more UK re-enactors there than French....which kind of makes sense, since we get the fun bits and they get to die lots! Neil

I've "done" agincort, its a good fun show and the battlefield is really evocotive of the event, you can almost see what was going through the commanders minds when the english made camp! There is an achual event put on by a group called the agincourt alliance, it used to be on the aniversary of the battle, but the weather always stinks so they moved to to july!! a coupkle of years ago memebers of that group even recreated the march by henry V from the coast, following the orginal route, i believe they intend to do the same thing again uin a few years! There website is:http://www.azincourt-alliance.org.uk/ and it even appears to be up to date! -------------------- For God, King and Lancaster

I 'did' Agincourt 4 or 5 times - I have to say it got progressively worse each time. Don't know why, but by the end it just wasn't doing anything for me. It always used to be in October, but due to growing lack of interest it was moved to June last year, I believe - I didn't actually go. The main problem I found is that egos take over, and one or two people (I mention no names) always end up taking over completely, and throwing their (considerable) weight around. Plus there's no nightlife to speak of; the organisers do (or always did) put on a banquet on the Saturday night, but frankly it wasn't that great. Obviously October wasn't a great time for camping (LH style) in medieval tents, but the one thing that 'made' the show was the atmosphere - the sense that we were 'doing it properly', so to speak. And having endured floods, snow, and 90 mph winds, I can really sympathise with good ol' Harry V! Doing it in June just wouldn't be the same (although I *would* love to do the show again). I am, however, contemplating going out to Azincourt (the French changed the name!) in October, to do 'The Remembrance' as it used to be done, to light a candle at the monument and have a few quiet thoughts, as we used to do. I don't know if the organisers are planning to do that, but it might be an option if anyone else is interested. I think I'll drag Caliburnus along! -------------------- La Belle Dame sans Merci

Tanc,I'm thinking of taking a trip over to the UK this spring. London, Leeds, Warwick & a couple of other places. Wouldn't mind you as a travel buddy. Let's talk, Jeff J. -------------------- Geoffrey Bourrette Man At Arms
