If anyone is interested, (and you got a few hundred Pounds Sterling for Christmas that's burning a hole in your wallet)...

On ebay, someone is auctioning off a British knightship. The person selling this is one Lord Charles Buchanan Turnor. So far the auction price is at 300 Pounds.

So, if you always wanted to be a knight, but weren't able to afford it...here's your chance!

If you want to look for yourself, try this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1402789798&r=0&t=0&showTutorial=0&ed=1010620724&indexURL=0&rd=1
If that doesn't work just go to www.ebay.com and do a search for item number 1402789798.

And I thought there wasn't anything for sale on ebay that could possibly amaze me...

Awfully tempting, if it is for real...
Looking at the writeup on ebay it sounds plausible, what a shame the exchange rate for the NZ$ is so bad...

Sorry, this just sounds like the latest in the Great British Tradition of selling fake titles, tartans etc to tourists.

Knighthoods (and indeed other peerages) can indeed be bought, but only from the Prime Minister in return for a large donation to the labour party. Cynical, but true.
