Thank you Ginevra!

Now, let's see, where to put my reminder note so I won't miss it. I'll just...oh, no, where's my pen, I had it just a moment ago....here it is, now.......where's....did I have a piece of paper in my hand just a minute ago? No, writing paper, a small piece about............

I'm sure I won't need reminded again.

Of course if someone could record it, that would be nice.

Hi Guys,

We don't get the History Channel. We will have access to it this weekend - will it be repeated, and when?

Good question, and one I really can't answer. I don't think the producer will know either. Maybe you could email the History Channel and find out? Failing that, we can probably send you a tape of the show.

Great show! Unfortunately I didn't record it. Kudos Jeff, great job!
I just checked the history channel's website, and they don't have a scheduled re-run this month. They do on occaision have "Modern Marvels" marathons on Sunday, I'll post again if they have one including this episode.
Auf Wiedersehen!

hello Jeff,

very nice... very, very nice.

i had a freind watch and he was very impressed with your metal working. his jaw just droped watching you work the metal on the sallet. i am sending him the thread on working with hot work.

he also was interested with your riveted mail. i was going on about your mail standard that bob has; how light it is compared to butted mail, how it flows etc. his brother works with mail and has been wanting to try making the riveted stuff. so my freind is interested in getting his brother the tools. did you forge them or purchase them?

by the by, in order to satify my own curiousity it looked as if yo were also working on a bascinet on the show. was it the same one that you posted pics a while back? from "my latest creation"; probably not, but just curious

have fun,

daniel

Thank you for your compliments, everyone.

The only special tool I use in riveting mail is a steel block with a swage hole drilled in it. About 1/16" diam. For driving the rivet home and as an anvil for peening the rivet. I use a modern cross-peen hammer and a small pair of nippers. I have the rings manufactured for me so don't make them myself, I only make or alter pieces, like I did with Bob's pieces.

The bascinet was not the same one as I posted before. It was just one I had on my bench that needed polishing.

Gaston, I have been remiss for not thanking you for putting the pictures of the show up last night. I had a great time looking at them before the show aired in CA, but I have to say that Jeff had some jitters and refused to look at them until after the show was over.

In any case, thank you for the preview!

You're absolutely welcome. I'm only sorry I didn't know exactly what to expect, I missed some much better snapshots, but it takes a second for the computer to acquire an image from the TV card.
