I have broken my arm recently, and am taking an enforced hiatus from jousting(and typing, which is why I have been absent).

When I am not jousting, I have adopted a middle eastern persona.

In doing my garb research, I have found that turbans were generally 15 inches wide and 5 yards long. They were also of a piece(no seams or hems).

Does anyone have any information on looms, as I would like to try my hand at weaving my own turban?

Thanks.

Hi Joseph,

Boy, I don't know what to tell you as to where to find the appropriate information. That is so far off from what most of us are studying regionaly (Western Europe), that I don't know if you could really find a solid scholarly answer here.

You might have better luck on More Perfectly Period, as there are at least some people studying the Middle East.

Hope you arm gets better ! Thats two bad jousting accidents I've heard of this year - Ouch!
