Hello,

Please have a look at the offerings at this link: Stuart Press

While I realize the majority of the topics covered in these pamphlets are out of period for this board, does anyone have any insights into the authors of them and do you think they would be good jumping off points for further research?

I am finding that as a Living History enthusiast, that the English Civil War period holds the majority of my interest, but I do thank the members of this board for opening my eyes to some great things.

Hi Angelique,

They might be fine for a jump point and may contain a few scholarly tidbits.

Other than that, I'm not in a position to say yay or nay.

Stuart Peachy appears in The Sealed Knot's (English Civil War Re-enactment) list of authors.

BTW: This is what I found for Janet Huggett who has written a lot of these pamphlets. I guess the question would be to write them and find out their references.

Hope this helps.

Jenn,

Thank you for your input. I have also gotten several responses from some ECW people I have been in contact with in the UK. He comes pretty highly recommended, so it looks like I may be investing a few dollars

When Jane was in 'The White Company' she was one of the few people who was both prepared to, and more importantly capable of, making good reasoned arguements on the clothing. Whilst we didn't always agree on the conclusions reached, I have a lot of respect for her as her knowledge is extensive and definitely worth paying heed to.

Cheers
Dave
