I'm hoping one of you techno-geniuses out there will be able to help me track down the following book:

Peter Quentel: Musterbuch fur Ornamente und Stickmuster

This is a pattern book for needlework printed in Cologne circa 1527 -1529. I'd like to get my hands on a facsimile for the patterns it contains. I have a similar Italian book and I'd like to compare patterns.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Gwen

Hi Gwen,
So far I have come up empty. Other options, Library of Congress or a university library might have the book and can make a xerox of it. (Though I too would rather have book in hand ).

Try variations in search methods. This is what I do, instead of typing in everything, just try the author's last name only (nothing else), or just the title, or use a portion of the title as a keyword. Start vague and work to specifics.

I shall keep looking.

Jenn

Harvard lists it as being available thru ILL from CRL in Chicago. They have limited service available to non-member libraries (only a few big universities are members...MIT is not one of them), but your local library might be able to get a xerox or copy of it for you, but there is a really steep fee.
