I've been doing some research on the history of the low countries, and have found several references to castles and other buildings being severely damaged by a great flood in 1421. Does anyone have any sources for more info on this event? I'd appreciate any help.

Hi Reinhard,

I believe it is covered in the book "Heilegem und Profund", which is a study of Medieval religious and secular medals found in the Low Countries - primarily because a number of the medals were recovered from villiages submerged then and now reclaimed (there were a series of these floods - the History of the Low Countries is as much a story of a battle against the sea as anything else).

The problem is sections of the book contain essays written in Dutch, English, and I believe German, so the question is which language is it written in. If I can find it, I'll wing off a copy to you (unless it's brief enough to post here).
