I thought some of you may be interested in this... I was there last year and had a great time.

(posted on armour archive site)

Well folks, we're on for June 7th - 9th, once again in Livermore!

Last year we had 156 people in attendance, making it the largest Western swordsmanship event held to that point. With the talented instruction we have in attendance this year, and with a few well-placed bribes, this year's event will hopefully be even larger and more spectacular!

We have instructors coming from Scotland, Australia, Canada, and all over the United States, with several provisional queries from Scandanavia, Germany, and Italy.

Our authors will be present, too; Christian Tobler "Secrets of German Medieval Swordsmanship--(out next week!)," William Wilson "Arte of Defence," Bob Charron "Italian Medieval Swordsmanship--the Flos Duellatorum of Fiore de Liberi", and more.

For tournaments, there will be THREE. One, a rapier "playing of the prize" run by the Tattershall School of Defence. Two, a blossfechten "vespers" tourney for gamboised/helmeted/gauntleted combatants, and three am armoured pas d'armes.

Sunday will feature at least three all-day seminars--Stephen Hand from Australia will teach one on George Silver--"The Last Medieval Swordsman"; Ramon Martinez from New York will teach his renowned Spanish Rapier; and Pete Kautz from Alliance Martial Arts will take you through an immersion course in medieval unarmed and knife fighting.

Don't miss out! Space is limited this year, since the instructors have requested course size limits. Preference for space will be given to the earlier signups.

I'm going to do my best to make it to this event. Wash cars, mow lawns, sell organs - whatever it takes!
