hey all from Anne-Marie
here is the tentative schedule for la maisnie, a 15th century re-enactment group up here in the pacific NW. Please note that most venues are indeed SCA events, but we've managed to convince them we dont eat babies or make google eyes at their "royalty" when they're not looking, so they think we're a bit odd, but mostly harmless .

If you're in our neck of the woods and want to come hang with us, by allmeans, contact me and I'll get you set up!

May 19-21: encampment at "May Crown", an SCA event in Coer d'Alene Idaho
June 16-18: encampment at "Lionhearts Tournament", an SCA event in Enumclaw Washington. Includes educational displays and demos.
June 22-25: encampment at "Ft Rodd Hill Days", a non-SCA demo in conjunction with PARMA (Pacific association for Recreating the Middle Ages...they do 14th century mostly) at Ft Rodd Hill, Victoria, Canada. Includes educational displays, demos and walks along the cliffs and beaches after the public goes home .
July 1-3: encampment at "An Tir West War", an SCA event in Northern California. trying to set up an educational display of some kind on shoemaking and leatherwork.
July 14-16: encampment at "July COronation", an SCA event in Bellingham Washington.
August 18-20: encampment at "Kent Canterbury Faire", a large town faire (severeal thousands of visitors) where we are asked by the SCA to do period demo stuff (they dont demo the SCA so much as the "current middle ages" which is a slight improvement, really!
August 25-27: encampment at South Sound Unity Tournament, an SCA event on the Kitsap Peninsula.
Sept 1-3: encampment at September Crown, an SCA event in Oregon
September 8-10: we are asked to help out at GreenSpire Faire, a demo for a catholic church fair with a medieval theme in Seattle.

again, if you happen to be in town for any of these, and want to come play, by all means, stop on by!

please do! consider yourself and your hubbie with open invites .
heat? the event this last weekend was about 70 degrees in the day, slightly overcast and a gentle breeze. The wind kicked up in the afternoon, but died down by evening. It was about 50 degrees at night. A gentle rain fell Saturday night, but only enough to curb the dust and it was all dried up by noon the next day.

Perfect wool weather!

I wish we didn't have to be included in the US section- Fort Rodd Hill is a Canadian National Historic Site, and our event is in Canada. Thanks for the plug, AM.
The Fort Rodd Hill Event is June 22-25. It is open to all medieval living history groups. For more information email me at mark@medievalwares.com .

Hello!

Our Swordsman tournament is on Father's Day weekend (whenever that may fall) ever year in Salinas, California.

We also may have some Winter War Games in February or so. However, those may be postponed so it could turn into Spring War Games
