Hi, all. I don't know if you are aware, but there is a publication out there that, although it does not cover historical archery per se, does have enough pertinent info to interest the historical and reenactment archer. The publication is "Primitive Archer" You can go to www.primitivearcher.com for more info. For example, the latest issue has an article on Eastern (Japanese, Turkish and Indo-Persian composite)bows, and an article on growing your own flax for bowstrings. Previous issues have included fletching, info on the "Iceman" (not germaine to this group, but neither is "Gladiator"), horn nocks and Flemish Splice strings. Definitely worth a look into for the historical archer. I have been waiting for one more worthy than myself to write on the Medieval longbow, but have seen precious little on the subject. Any takers?
