Museum Of London (MOL) series"The Medieval Horse and it's Equipment"

The first edition of the MOL Medieval Horse and it's Equipment was published in 1995. And then went out of print. The second edition has just been released and is available from Boydell or from Amazon. Some significant additions and contributions have been added to the first edition.
The conclusions are similar to the 1995 edition. However, they added a bit (pun intended) to the work in various fields. More on the excavation sites. They have added much on remains of the medieval horse with data from other sources (including how great is the great horse). And more about finds particularly on bits and spurs. As with any publication, more references have surfaced which have been included.
Flipping quickly through the pages. It's obviously England based. Good references to different aspects. Shoes, bits, headstalls (bridles), harness pieces. Like the rest of their series, it looks well documented with primary references and they show the dig sites and which site the pieces came from.
Just as an example, there are pages of references on horse shoes. Not just style, but pages of data on various widths and lengths that were found. As well as type of nails found with it, special remarks (like toe indentations or custom shaping) and unusual wear marks. I like the median width vs max/min sizes (graphs) pages...
To the researchers on the forum, it's a good buy.
