I am very nearsighted and need my glasses for daily functions, is there any place where I can obtain period frames? And, if I find said frames, will Lenscrafters or whoever put lenses in them?

This item appears to be elusive. I am starting to think nobody makes them.

It has been my understanding that late 14th and 15th glasses were for reading. So if you are myopic (see things clearly close up) you will not need glasses to see with. It would probably not be accurate to wear them to see across the way or down the road, as there are no surviving illustrations of this being done. All the illustrations that I have seen are of people wearing them to read and write. Also the very early ones would seem to me to be easily dislodged during any activity requiring torso movement. Just my thoughts.
