Has anybody really worked with fur extensively? As in using it for a lining, and not just edging something? I'm starting to play with it, and I'm basing some of my construction ideas on modern techniques. I've deconstructed some fur coats, and noticed that there was generally a linin interlining which was "pad stitched" with wide intervals to the fur. Then the lining was stitched to the fur and the interlining. I was thinking of doing the same, sewing a fur lining to a heavy linen interlining, then sewing the whole shebang to the wool garment fabric. The attachment to the garment would also be fairly large stitches, to allow me to switch the lining between garments, if I so desire at a later point.
So, I have a plan, but as fur is a whole new world for me, I thought I'd see if anybody had any experience with it, and would share any tips, or things to watch out for.
Thanks!
