Author Topic: How to furnish a late 14th century tent James of York New Member Member # 645 posted 08-12-2004 09:42 PM                I am new to this forum and am in the SCA but I want to get myself closer to LH standards for my own benifit. I have ordered a 12' round pavilion and I need advice (pics would be greatly appreciated) on how to furnish it. I am portraying a English middle-uppermiddle class personna from about 1390. Romance of Alexanderand Roman de la Rose are two sources for ideas. However a bed with slats or rope support. A mattress of straw. Feather bed, Linen sheets, duvet stuffed with wool or feathers. A stool or backless chair is becoming fashionable to have beside your bed. Also a small ground cloth to dress on is optional(large bath towel size). A legless chest or two that your clothing and equipment packs into. Footed or legged chests were the stay at home variety. They waste space when packing a wagon.
