i just started to work on a pair of turn shoes also based off of #106 from the Shoes and Pattens book. since you allways suggest to question before copying, here i go.

from the pictures that you have on your site there appears to be a topband on the boots, however the text states that topbands were not found on the examples #105 & #106 illustrated in the book. is this an addition that you found evidence to support or a carry over from a similar style. also, i would like to add a rand to the boots aswell as a clump sole. would the rand wrap around the entire shoes like a modern welt, terminating on the inner side? would the clump sole and heel be two seperate pieces? at which point would they terminate or begin? i wear a size twelve and i am planning on making the heel and sole as two separate pieces. the heel piece would be about 2-3" and the sole piece would terminate approximately beneath the arch. also how far does the rand extend outward from the shoe?

also how appropriate is this type of boot for a swabian impresion during WoR?
