Here's something I found on my last trip to the Louvre.

It's the effigy of Phillippe Pot, Grand Seneschal of burgundy, from 1493.

Oh, should have said - the Knight is life size, and the monks are about four feet high.

I've got photos from the other three sides as well, but haven't had chance to scan them.

Anybody remember that scene in Star Wars where C3PO is being carried by the Jawas?

very cool, and very burgundian

at the Musee des Beaux Artes in Dijon in Burgundy, in Philipe le Bons house there are several similar tombs/coffin lids with those wonderful "mourners".

The entire room is in the 15th century tower, contains a wonderful gothic fireplace and such. *sigh*.....
