I have been buying 1 pound pure tin bars from McMaster-Carr for $9.63 each. Does anyone know if this is a good price or if there is a better place to buy tin from. I'm looking for about 5 pounds at a time for tinning brigandine plates.

I sent you an email regarding another place that sells tin in a myriad of forms. They did not have a price list.

Hope it helped.

I just ordered 10 pounds of pure tin from Ney Metals for $3.65 a pound. They only have a $25 minimum order. The price per pound under 50 is $3.65, 50-99 is $3.50, and 100+ is $3.40.

Wow, Craig. The cheapest I've been able to find tin here for is about $8 a pound. Thanks for the info. I suspect they have britannia or lead free pewter too?
