For those who might be interested in growing their own plants for fabric or yarn dyes, check out www.superseeds.com and send for their catalog. In it they list a wide selection of plants/seeds with their traditional uses - which colors derive from which plants, etc., and medicinal, cosmetic and culinary applications.

My mother grows many of them for use in her soapmaking, natural cosmetics and health products, coloring yarn/thread for weaving, etc. and she recommends them as a good resource.

Happy Holidays!
