Hi All-

We're about 4 weeks out from the World Invitational Joust and things are just cranking along.

I find I have 1 open spot for ground crew, so I thought I'd advertise here.

The position is for a Shard Collector. Your job would be to stand on the field out of harm's way during a pass, then jump into the lane and collect the bits of broken lance while the scorekeepers are totalling points.

It's an easy job with a great view of the action!

Candidates must be 18 or older, and be nimble and alert. No previous experience necessary. They will have to attend the run through/practice the Friday before the event. They have to own or be willing to wear a 15th C. doublet, hose, hat, etc.

There is no pay involved, but we will provide clothing as necessary, feed you the day of the event, and offer you free tickets for your friends and family. You also have the satisfaction of participating in the first Royal Armouries sanctioned event in the US, along with competitors from England, Belgium, New Zealand and Australia.

Interested parties should contact me directly- gwen@historicenterprises.com.

Thanks!

Gwen

Winner of the Queen's Horn Joust Arne Koets, Jeffrey Hedgecock and Fred Piraux will be participating in the World Invitational Joust on October 27 in Poway, CA.

A most excellent event.
Thank you Jeff, Gwen and all others who made it work so well in spite of what seemed like setback after setback. My whole family came down with some bug on Friday, but we decided that if you guys can put the show on after all the injuries, fires and everything else, the least we could do would be to show up and support you. We are VERY glad we did!

Here are a few of the photos I took.

My pleasure!
I decided Flickr was easier to upload to.
Heres the remainder of the stills I took:

Hopefully the April date will be a bit less stressful and logistically challenged for the team.
