Sorry to over-indulge in posting self promoting pics, but as a group we never seem to be together in one place when a camera is present. Even in this picture, we are missing more than half the group. The crossbow and arquebus were on loan from the Higgins, as we were short on arms that day. Not usualy seen in these pictures are Peter Kleim (with the bow), and Craig Nadler (with the padded jack & halberd), and Adam Berry (with the crossbow). -------------------- Bob R.

Hi Jason, Amusingly enough, my cuirasse and helmet in this photo are both copies of armour captured by the Swiss during the Burgundian wars. Nope - no artillery to date, although we intend to remedy that in future. -------------------- Bob R.

The red/black isn't our livery colours. A picture of Pieter wearing Burgundian livery is here.. While Bern may have adopted the red/black parti colour for it's livery, the colour combination was also used to identify towns. A few years ago, I had found references to certain colour combinations for different cities in Germany. And certain colours also used by regional jousting leagues. (And only the Almighty knows where I buried the info as I tried to look for it this morning...) However, at the time, evidence pointed that red/black was used in Swabia. I think it was tied to Schaffhausen. However, two of the jousting leagues were centralized in Konstanz on the Bodensee. Both are Swiss/German border towns. If I re-discover the reference, I'll post it. Besides, flexibility in your employ is always a desired trait! [ 07-03-2003: Message edited by: Friedrich ]

Hi Eric And Fredrich,The Red and Black, nonwithstanding whatever else it is, also is the personal livery colours of Steven Philpot, chef de chambre of the 3rd chambre of the Second Escadre of the 10th company of the ordinaces, and the Wolfe Argent is his livery badge - hence the name, and the preponderance of the colours. In the photos, the lads are not wearing (fie on them) the livery of Burgundy in addition, which is their uniform. Actually, they aren't wearing the burgundian livery for 'The Medieval Soldier" in largest part so the audience can see the harness variation between the different soldiers for the presentation. -------------------- Bob R.
