Hi Mathieu,

Tentsmiths in Concord New Hampshire is a company that a lot of folks on the board use. They even are willing to consider custom designs.
http://www.tentsmiths.com/

We have a Past Tents Burgundian that we had shipped from England. Ours is a real Past Tents bought from John Waters.

STRIKE THIS ONE: Revival

See Gwen's note below.

I think Revival does Past tents. But their site seems to indicate a "new source". www.pasttentsamerica.com (you will be redirected).

Caveat Emptor on this one- The white tent featured is NOT a Past Tents tent- read the text CAREFULLY!!

These new tents are made from specially woven 14oz canvas, are both FIRE RETARDANT and WATER RESISTANT. The canvas is as tight and well made as the European tents we also like to offer

and

Colored versions of this tent are available. These are imported from England

"Past Tents" is the name of a UK company. I know that Chivalry -had- a contract to distribute PT products, but the copy leads me to believe the tent being offered is no longer being made by Past Tents. It looks like the same design but made out of aluminum and whatnot. Definately NOT a tent for reenactment, and definately NOT a "Past Tents" tent.

I have an email to Past Tents asking for clarification regarding the design/manufacture/name issue.

Thanks for clarification Gwen. When I read that I wasn't sure if Revival was still dealing with John.

Which is why I indicated "new source". I saw the aluminum poles.

Our Burgundian came from England as at the time, it was actually less expensive than the US distributor, even after S&H. But that was a few years ago.

Tentsmiths might be your best bet depending on where in Canada/US you are located.

I just got off the phone with John a short time ago.

Although an unauthorized ripoff of John's design, the aluminum pole "Past Tents" are not made by Past Tents, they're being made in China.

I've alerted John to this thread and have encouraged him to post a statement about what's going on with Past Tents and the Revival tents being marketed under the "Past Tents America" name.

Serious Caveat Emptor here folks, which I got straight from the horse's mouth. If you want a Past Tents tent, at this point you can ONLY get it directly from Past Tents in the UK:

Past Tents
New Farm, Main St,
Walesby, Newark,
Nottinghamshire, England.
NG22 9NU

Telephone/FAX: 00 44 (0)1623 862480

To call the UK, dial 011 44 1623 862480. The UK is 8 hours -ahead- of California time, 5 hours -ahead- of NY time.
