Hello all,

Does anybody have any first hand experince with Matuls'15 century Aketon?(or any of his clothing?) http://www.tvgawex.pl/~g13526/english/aindex.html

I'm thinking about ordering one of hisaketons in linen with puffs. I can't build one for the money he's asking.

Cheers,

David Teague

From what i've heard and seen i'd say Black swan designs is the best place to go. I got a chance to see some of Gwens stuff yesterday and it looks great. www.historicenterprises.com

You're very kind Thomas, but there's no way I can (or want to!) offer -any- sort of coat for E40/US$49!!!!!!

My arming coats are in the $300-$500 range.

Hello Thomas,

Thank you for a speedy reply

I'm familiar with Black Swans work as I currently own a few clothing items of Gwens'.

You are right, she does nice work. (I even have one of Jeffrey's matchlocks).

I make a lot of my own gear and clothing and have hand sewn 3 styles of padded jacks so far and if I can have one made for far less than what it would take me to make this... well I don't mind buying someone's else's work. That just frees up my time for a different project.

Cheers,

Here is a mix of Gwen's and my handy work.

Black Swan made the tunic, under shirt, biggen, braies, hose, hat, and pilgrim's badge.

I made the sleeveless jack, cross of St Andrew, shoes, pouch, belt, buckler, all the mail, self nocked arrows (there is 6 more stuck in my belt), and the scabbard for my custom Falchion.

This is my interpretation of a lowland Scot in 1388 sans my helm.
