With a heavy heart I have decided to part with a beloved piece of fabric. It is an old hand loom fustian in herringbone. The German term for this is half-linen. I got this and the info on it from a nice old lady whose great grandmother (who was the last in the family to make her own fabric) made this. The great grandmother died in 1916, so the fabric is at least 88 years old or probably older, since they moved to town in 1913. It is in excellent condition. The piece is 13m=14.2 yrds=42.65 feet long long and 50cm (approx. 20 inches) wide. I have included a picture of the fabric in its entire width and one close-up of the herringbone and its rim which is made of smaller herringbone. Feel free to make me an offer, I have to admit I cannot place a value on this (i do not even know if someone would be interested in this. I will just have to see what strikes me as a good deal. I am still in need of all sorts of things for a late 14th century German persona and (who isn't these days) cash.
Regards Sebastian

Wow, that's gorgeous! How many yards are we talking about, here? I/we might be interested.Where are you, btw? I'm not hoping, but if you're somewhere near or where I may visit in the future we could avoid shipping. Neb -------------------- Fortus fortuna uvat!
