Hi folks-Just a little something to whet your whistle. This is a new style of 15th C. livery we'll be offering early next year, modeled by Destrier Chairman Dominic Sewell. Projected cost for one like this (wool, body lined in linen, hook closure in front) is about $125.00US This style is seen in Rene's 'Book of the Tournament', as well as loads of illuminations from the period. (Note: They should fit a bit more closely than this, Dom lost some weight between the time of making and the photo.) Photo © Historic Enterprises 2005. All rights reserved Enjoy! Gwen

Oh, those are gorgeous. And a reasonable price too for something so nice I love the way the bottom flows. (Peplum is the modern term, don't know what would be correct...der...) -------------------- Dahlin', this can't be real emergency, I only brought one bottle of bourbon and one bottle of Tabasco...

Angelique,While we do have plans to carry leather garters with bronze buckles and tips, that particular garter is the one we gave Dom when we inducted him into the "Order of the Crescent", as it's 4th and latest member. So, not to be unkind, but NO you can't buy one, 'cause only Crescents get 'em! You could make your own from our pewter buckle and tip sets: Historic Enterprises Buckles and Findings, and use mounts we offer, or have "Billy and Charlie" make something similar for you though, they made them for us.

What, the color of the Order of the Garter is NOT a stock color???? LOLActually that's why we are hunting them, I have some ECW friends who are looking to portray members of that Order. I will send them this info, chances are they will choose to make them, was just hoping to give them a jump start. -------------------- Dahlin', this can't be real emergency, I only brought one bottle of bourbon and one bottle of Tabasco...

Well, if you're doing "THE Garter" order, you should at the least have gilded fittings and blue velvet garters.By rights, in the Croissant, we should really have silver fittings and mounts on our garters, and they probably should be black silk velvet rather than plain leather. But they were rather done in haste. I think fancy garters will be the next step for us. Historically, anyone high-status enough to be in an "order" would have enough money to afford really posh garters.

Oh dear, I completely forgot this. Doh.Erm, yes, you can certainly get them, and I'll work on putting them up in the custom section in the next week or so. If you don't see it, give me a poke again. I seem to be having bouts of short term memory loss, what with gtting the Christmas stuff up, putting up items I thought were up (like the acorn buttons and small storage jars) and developing new stuff. I'm constantly in a "what am I forgetting now" mode. Gwen

Suits Dom. "(Peplum is the modern term, don't know what would be correct...der...)"
Kirtle is an acceptable term believe it or not.
