Hello fellow cooks. I just stumbled on this [URL=http://www.uwm.edu/~carlin/#MEDIEVAL and EARLY MODERN HOUSEHOLD and CONDUCT TEXTS]site[/URL] while looking for more info on portable ovens. She's written a book, (probably already mentioned) on Medieval fast food. (that's fast as in quick, not fast as in not eating). All that aside, her site is a wonderful portal to a great collection of medieval cooking texts, museum and library sites.

P.S. I've written to Monticello and Kew Gardens about medieval gourd varieties but expect the return will be quite a while.
