Gwen posting from Jeff's computer and ID

All of Ramona has been evacuated. We packed Thomas and Emma off with Richard and Virginia, and Jeff, Luke and I are here at the shop waiting to see if we really will have to leave. The horses are in the trailer, and the cats are safely crated in the other room. We can leave at a moment's notice.

We are a bit scared but OK. The fire is terrible and out of control, but we are in no immediate danger. The fire seems to have split in 2 and is going around Ramona. Touch wood.

We remain as calm as we can given the circumstances. Will keep you updated. Please tell everyone we are OK for the time being.

Gwen

Cross posted from the AA:

quote:
Everybody is safe at this point, people and horses are being evacuated further and further away from Ramona just in case.

Currently, the officials say the fire could burn right up to the beach.

We are keeping fingers crossed that all is OK, some 200,000 people have been evacuated from the area. I'll try and update but seeing as we are right on the beach, if the fire gets this far, we'll have to go.

All the best guys, thinking of you.

I hope Thomas has his asbestos undies on.

Hi All,

I just talked to Gwen. Everyone is fine and well. They are in a little refugee camp in Lakeside. Horses and people are fine. Jezz should be arriving shortly.

Their Jousting event is GO!

Gwen says that they could really use a showering facility, but other than that, all is well.

Shop and house are still standing and relatively safe last they heard.

This has been a public service announcement.

Jenn
