Andy,I just wanted to let you know I received my Freneria Lopez catalog. WOW! Thank you so much for turning me on to them. Now I just have to figure out how much the shipping from Spain to the US will be and what the heck a VAT number is... Thanks again. Could be, I have no clue. I never had to order anything from Europe before--I just had a client bring it back for me, LOL.I guess I'll ask one of the native Spanish speakers at work to look at the Spanish version of the ordering instructions, maybe she can help me. From what I'm seeing, they used a translator program. Useful things, but sometimes they miss the gist... quote: The hefty sales tax everyone there pays for goods and services. Usually 19-25% pending items which is often already included in the asking price. If it is shipped, then the shipper should not add it in but has to declare it's being exported on the labels. If you buy something there, you will pay the tax but with some forms at the airport or I suspect now online, you can ask for it back.
So what you are saying is that if I am having it shipped from Spain I won't have to pay the VAT since I live in the US? (As long as the shipper correctly marks the labels that this is an exported shipment?) As I said, I usually just have a client bring stuff home for me, but none of my clients usually go to Spain--Andalusians are great but they don't tend to wow modern competitive dressage judges.
