I am thankful for my friends, who are the ballast I so need sometimes, and without whom my life would be pretty empty.

I am thankful to live in a rich nation where I don’t have to search for food and shelter on a daily basis.

I'm thankful for the legions of under appreciated firefighters and policemen and women who risk their lives regularly so I can be safe.

I'm thankful for EMTs who are not eating turkey today, but sitting in stations eating junk food waiting to save my sorry butts when I choke on a turkey bone.

I'm thankful for all of the people who give something of themselves so I can sit home and be self indulgent and happy.
