I usually can't abide those male bashing / "my-husband-is-stupider-than-your-husband" things that circulate around, but Anne-Marie sent me this this morning and I thought it was light enough to be cute.

Thought For Christmas

Do you know what would have happened
If it had been Three Wise Women
Instead of Three Wise Men?

They would have asked directions,
Arrived on time,
Helped deliver the baby,
Cleaned the stable,
Made a casserole,
Brought practical gifts and
There would be Peace On Earth.

Maybe it's the "made a casserole" part that makes it so amusing.

A friend at work sent me that. It is cute. I just remember my first thoughts on reading it and the "punctuality" part is dubious given some of the women I work with...Fashionably late is more like it. *chuckle*

Have you heard the one about the perfect couple and Santa the Hitchhiker?? If not, I will see if I can dig it up from the "just for grins" file.

I believe the Perfect Couple and Santa story goes like this:

A Perfect Man and a Perfect Woman were driving down the road when they came upon a man in a red suit stranded on the side of the road. Upon stopping, they realized he was Santa Claus! "Please," he asked, "I'm in a real hurry. Can you give me a ride?" The Perfect Couple agreed and started to head down the road. While driving, the Perfect Man took his eyes off the road for a second and the car veered off road and smashed into a tree, killing two of the three passengers.

Can you tell me which two were killed and why?

Is that how it goes? I know the answer but want to see Gwen answer.

Gwen is really bad at these things, so don't wait for me to answer! I have no sense of humor, remember?

Gwen

Afterthought- this probably has something to do with the "Perfect Man" being dead or something, right?

Yep POD that's the one. I was looking for the e-mail scroller.

There is a man's part and a woman's part to this joke and it works best in the form of an email.

Still looking for it. Will send it as soon as I find it Gwen.

To all:

Actually, Clay had posted on the KeggeR board that he planned on giving the boards a rest for a while. He got caught up in a flame-war on one of the other two UBB sites. I think the surfeit of "Off-Topics" type wrangling finally got to him.

That's why I tend to avoid those types of discussions as a matter of principle...though my wife (who tends to be a rather contentious sort) thrives on them! I'm going to e-mail him, to check to see if he's doing okay.

As someone who has also gotten soundly thrashed and rattled on other boards, I empathize with his sentiment.

That's too bad about Clay- I found him to be an articulate, personable, bright guy with very well thought out opinions.

His withdrawal is a loss for this or any other board.
