Hi everone,

I'm new to this site. It looks really good. I am at a stables in Peterborough and the manager regularly competes in National trust jousting events etc I'm so jealous!. I have tried sword skills on horseback and last time I went for the target I almost took my horses head off with the sword!! Hope to get better at it this year.

I would like to post some pictures of my horses and hope this site will let me post them.

Hope he doesnt mind me saying , its Dominic Sewell. I have seen his photos on other threads. I met Steve Mallet at our yard xmas party. They quite often have photoshoots and falcons etc at the yard, its great to watch! I found this site by mistake and thought 'I know that horse and rider'!

I would love to learn more but my horse is still young and in training. Who knows, maybe in the summer......watch this space!

Hi Simone!

When I saw your post I thought "They must mean Dominic- there can't be two livery yard managers in Peterborough who joust!". I sent the link off to Dom, who confirmed! Small world indeed!

To fill in some blanks, Dominic, Jeff and I are close friends, and Dominic has been visiting us in the US this past week.

Thomas Hayman's services as valet are shared by the Order of the Crescent, of which Steve Mallet and Dominic are a part.

Jeff and I will be staying with Dom while we're there in a few weeks, and we'll look forward to meeting you in person!

Gwen

PS- I forgot to ask Dom- is Natador Cobrador's brother?

Aye, met Dom and Steve before, tiny little world, isn't it :-). So, do you attend the training sessions at Star stables? it's likely i'll end up meeting you if i can get some riding lessons for myself :-)

Welcome Simone.

In the world of WMA, it is highly recommended that one apply martial arts on the ground before moving up to horseback to avoid the "I've beheaded my horse" or "cropping" the ears. Your equine partner will thank you.

Duarte, Fiore, and other 14th and 15th century masters of the forms move you from the ground up. If you are uncomfortable with a weapon on the ground, then you are not ready to combine it with an equine friend.

Cheers,

Jenn

His name is Nadador, means 'swimmer'. Dom also has a Spanish horse called Cobrador 'debt collector'. There arent many Spanish horses in the UK so when I moved to Dom's yard it was quite a surprise to see another. They are such bold and 'original' looking horses so I can see why Dom would use one for his historic work. I look forward to seeing Dom's friends in person It is a small world!

P.S Nadador's very good at ducking now. He quite likes his ears the way they are
