Recently, someone posted a link to plates from Rene's Book of the Tournament somewhere online. I remember looking at the plates and thinking "way cool, I need to bookmark this site". Unfortunately, it looks like I didn't because I don't have a bookmark for it and I'll be blasted if I can find it again.

Does anyone remember the thread the link was on or better yet, does anyone have the URL? I thought it might be in the BNF site but I can't seem to find it there.

Thanks!

Gwen

OK, I found it. It was on the BNF site, you just have to look for "Rene- Tournois" rather than "Rene-Tournament". Doh.

Same problem with the site tho- I get to look at one image and thereafter none of the full sized images will load. Bummer.

Doing a gallica search on "René d'Anjou" works too.

Check the memory allocation on your web browser or upgrade to a newer version. I used to have the same problem with Internet Exploder. I switched to Fire Fox (aka Mozilla) and the problem went away for me.

The web site is for the Bibliothèque Nationale in France. To access the documents:

Cote : BNF Richelieu Manuscrits Français 2692

Wow~ that is gorgeous! and to think every time they wanted another book made, the artist(s) had to redo those elaborate drawings again! Fantastic Bob, thanks!
