Hi there, I came across this title:

Medieval Costume, Armour, and Weapons
by Eduard Wagner, Zoroslava Drobna, Jan Durdik, Zoroslava Drobnba

It covers central continental europe in the years 1350 to 1450 and was published in january 2001 by Dover Publications

Does anyone own it and know if it's worthwhile to buy it? Thanks!

Amazon sells it

Hi,

I just know the german edition of the Wagner book from aboot 1960. Itßs quite ok to get an overall look, but has, at least in my opinion two major setbacks: first, all illustrations are drawn by Wagner himself (or one of his co-workers) and are not so rich on details. Second, again in the german ed., he rarely gives full reference details, most information is incomplete.
Another thing ist, that many of his pictures are based on Voillet le Duc or other artists or authors from the 1850s.

All in all, it´s a nice picture book, but imho nothing more; nice to look at and to get a first glance or a idea on new stuff to make or buy, but it´s the start for new research, not the end of it.

Bye,
Tomasz

Muchos Gracias Senor! That was the kind of answer I needed.
I am in search of books with pictures and photos of effigies, extant clothing, armour, weapons and such, not wrong 1850's visions.
