I have a picture of a pair of splinted vambraces I made on my web site at...
http://home.gci.net/~grimm

Look under the armour link. They were made in the style from about 1490 to 1520. For period pics there are some woodcuts that show splinted vambraces on Landsknechts and Rieslaufers. Off hand I can't remember any paintings of them as they were a munition armour and were not worn much by anyone of wealth and power. Although I remember seeing some early brasses from the 14th century that show some. But that is not my time period. Hope this helps.
