They were made in the style from about 1490 to 1520. For period pics there are some woodcuts that show splinted vambraces on Landsknechts and Rieslaufers. Off hand I can't remember any paintings of them as they were a munition armour and were not worn much by anyone of wealth and power. Although I remember seeing some early brasses from the 14th century that show some. But that is not my time period. Hope this helps.
