Hello the board. I'm trying to locate yet another manuscript to substantiate an image of a medieval portable oven. The image is footnoted at "Street sellers. 1417, Constance, Germany. Concilium Constantier. St. Petersburg, 1874" Does this strike any bells for anyone? Any ideas where I might look for this ms? I tried a varied net search and got zip.
Thanks in advance for what ever might be offered.
Best regards, Joan the Terrier Diligente.

Hi Joan,

Try the "advanced" search link on GOOGLE.COM.
Exact phrase: Concilium Constantiense
Once you get the returns, at the bottom of the screen you can "search within these results" link. Type in: 1417.

Do you have PW Hammonds "Food and Feast in Medieval England"? A search of Stefan's Florilegium turned up a pretzel vendor that I suspect might be the same image. I don't know if PW Hammond indicated in the notes where the MS might reside.
