Help us ring in the New Millennium (the REAL one!) We’re holding a random drawing of email entries for a copy of Old Testament Miniatures (by Sydney Cockerell, with a preface by John Plummer, published by George Braziller, New York). Pictures reproduced from the illuminated book belonging to the Pierpont Morgan Library, New York, with additional leaves from the collection of The Bibliothéque Nationale, Paris, and Dr. Peter and Irene Ludwig, Aachen. The book (Elephant Folio size – 12.5” X 16”), while used, is in ‘very good plus’ condition, and its value is between $100 - $370. After nearly two years of searching, we came across two beautiful copies, and think this is a great opportunity to pass along our good fortune.
One entry per person, please. Spammers, beware - more than one entry will disqualify ALL entries from that person! Send your email to armory@armourworks.com, with Maciejowski Bible in the subject line. If you want verification of your entry, please request a receipt on your email system when you send your entry. If you don’t have email, you can send a snail mail letter to the address on our website (www.armourworks.com). Mailed entries must be in our hands by December 31, 2000 to be included in the drawing.
Be sure to include your mundane name, address and phone number, and tell us why you should win the book. While the reason you should get it won’t affect the drawing for the book, (that will be drawn at random on January 1st, 2001) the person who submits the best reason in their entry will receive one of our historical Chapel de Fer helms (for dress, not combat). The helm will be custom built to fit the winner, and will be shipped within the first two weeks of January. We will pay for shipping within the US, but a winner outside the US must pay shipping costs.
Wishing each of you Happy Holidays!
