Hi,We're staging a Medieval Party on a Farm in County Durham, in North East England over the week end of August 14th & 15th 2004 and hopefully annually thereafter. Unusually there will be no admittance whatsoever to the general public, it is for re-enactors ONLY, and by invitation at that.
However, several of the folk on these boards such as Gwen and Jeff from Historic Enterprises & Balck Swan Designs, and Mark from Gaulkler I know from their attendance at my National Living History Fairs in Warwickshire, England, and anyone that they recommend would be invited - very informal really, but helps with licensing for the Beer Tent and the Insurance etc.
There are photographs of the site at http://gallery67625.fotopic.net/
It is being avidly discussed on various threads on the www.livinghistory.co.uk gossip pages, see West Cot Farm and Free Medieval Weekend Idea for details.
We plan a 1066 to 1500 timeline, a Battle, Storming A Castle (to be built from pallisades and wooden panels, 27 yard diameter ) Archery contests, Full Contact Sword Tourney - see the video clips at www.lancasters-armourie.co.uk for what that can be like! - Pig and Lamb Spit Roast on the Saturday Evening free of charge - Craft Demos, silly games, no politics, no public, no pressure, just FUN!
If you are interested, drop me a line or reply to this, and I'll get back to you with more details.
Very best wishes
David
