Hi,
Although I'm new here I've been quite impressed with the general 'tone' of things here. And I was wondering, how many people here would be interested in a Battle in Scotland next year? My group, Gaddgedlar, is hosting Bannockburn around about the end of June (most likely the weekend of the 26th) and I was wondering who here would be intrested in taking part - please note I'm not confirming details for attendance just yet, just seeing how many US-based groups would be interested.

Hi Allen,

While the event sounds intriguing, I doubt you have much use for men at arms and footmen of the Burgundian ordinances of the 1470's, so that leaves Wolfe Argent out. It would be fun to go and watch though.

Hi,
What we would be looking for would be people in the requisite soft kit, as well as akatons, kettle helms, etc. At this years' event, the first one ever, we had a few people who do different eras - as diverse a bunch of groups as vikings to some 15th century chappies! We're looking for as many people to come to next years event as is possible, as medieval re-enactments have been few and far between up here in Scotland.

Hi Alan,

I'm interested (and also in the UK). I was a little gutted to find I missed this years event as it was.

I have c13th kit which can easily be updated.

I did take part in the battle of Stirling Bridge this year, all be it for Channel 5 TV :-)

Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andy,
The event is being run by my group (Gaddgedlar) and Plantagenet Events. We're looking at around the 26/27th June next year, although this date hasn't been confirmed yet!

Hi Alan,

Yes, I've got the date highlighted in my diary, and checked out your website while surfing the 1265 site.

All going well, I'll see you then..!

Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andy,
Hope to see you there then! The battle promises to be pretty good - we get to play on the battlefield itself, at least those bits that haven't got housing on it!
For anyone else that's interested, check out either the Gaddgedlar site, or Plantagenet Events over the next few months for details as to when and where.
