hello all,

i need everyone's help. there is an event in the works for next year as early as january. the proposed dates are two weekends including a friday on the first and a monday on the second falling on MLK Jr. day; total six day "fair". the fair will center around a "palio" either of the city of Asti or Siena ca. 1500-1520.

we need to hire a group to perform a joust/list/tournament with the appropriate pagentry and armour of that time frame twice a day plus an armouring demo if posible. the group that is available locally web page we don't want to hire because their quality isn't what we want. we are looking for a group that can provide armour and tack closer to LH standards and be somewhat italian ca. 1500-1520.

we don't want to create another ren fair but instead are shooting for something comparable to our european counterpart, so we need a group with better armour and tack and higher standards closer to LH.

if you're interested, can recomend someone, or have have additional questions, let me know. please get back to me as soon as you can, so i can pass this info on and contact the appropriate groups.

also if your interested in the palio check this site out.
web page

as more info is available i will post it.

thank you again.

hello again folks,

we are really coming up with nothing down here. there only seams to be cheesy-renny-joust groups available for south florida cept for one whose armour is way too late in style.

are there any authentically oriented groups that jousts?

thanks for the leads Bob, i tried them out with some sucess.

Glen, could you please get back with me?

Brenna i tried your freind out on the FL west coast and he just pointed me back to the same groups that we don't want to get.

we're looking for a group that is turn of the cent. and the only groups that i've been able to find are either fantasy/sca/ren or too late of a style of armour. please pos any info that may help or e-mail me with it. thanks.

The Freelancers were the only guys I could put him in contact with, I've known one of their number for many years. But I did say at the time I wasn't what time frame they portrayed or if they would be appropriate for an LH style event.

They've got some really nice horses though!!!

Dan,

Try this group in Maryland. They may have some contacts that meet the requirement.

If that doesn't work, go to google.com and type in: jousting associations and see what it comes up with.
