Hello fine fellows and femmes, attached (I hope) is a picture from the churbourg/innsbruck armoury book showing an array of halberds.
Not content with the the "standard" swiss-style halberds flooding the market, I am negotiating between many local and international blacksmiths and bladesmiths about recreating these puppies right down to every detail. One will be 100% like the origionals, the others for re-enactment purposes.
However, for an accurate price quote I need the dimensions, length, width, thicknesses, etc. Does anyone know where I can get a photo of one of these halbers, fulll length, as I only have the heads in referrence? Also whom I must contact to get the dimensions? When inquiring about other churbourg armoury pieces I have found that certain pieces are long since moved from churbourg to other museums.
Also, Ive fallen in love with the Ahlspiess in the center of the photo. As unusual as it seems from the standard ahlspiess in other collections and period illustrations from 15c and 16c, I just love it. If anyone has ANY info on this particular ahlspiess, I would just have to give you a big fat kiss! (thank goodness for hersheys, I hear you say!)
Thanks for any hlep you might provide,
EDIT NOTE: I cant get on-line with my computer but have networked mine to this one of which can get oneline. Im having problems with this PCs dial-up connection. If I can e-mail this image to someone, can they upload it for me? Sorry for such a hassle!
